So sorry to hear of Steve’s passing. He was such a help to my family during my brothers dealing with the VA. He loved all his fellow vets and would do anything for them. RIP, you deserve it.

I spoke with Steve last fall after he came home from the hospital. Even though he was tired he still took the time to visit with me. Steve had a funny sense of humor and touched so many with his presence. He was a caring, happy and class act. You can be proud of Steve. He will be missed by many near and far. He was a good man.

Steve stepped up to the plate and made the phone calls that were needed to get my husband, Pat Martin, into the VA hospice unit and to get him approved for 100% disability in the record time of 1 day! I owe Steve for the rest of my life. Without him, I never would be receiving survivor benefits from the VA and I really appreciate it. Steve had a true caring heart and was a great friend. His smile will also be in my memory of him. Thank you, Steve.

I am so sorry for your loss! i met Steve at the VA while my dad was in hospice care! Over many years, I remember my dad talking about Steve. Telling stories of thier frienship. And when I met Steve, he shared some stories in the same fashion. What a great loss! May the 2 of them celebrate!

Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Although Tom and I cannot attend the memorial service for Steven we will take good care of him and pay our respects often after we lay him to rest at Black Hills National Cemetery. I will command the veterans honor guard and present the flag to Tom which he will keep for you until we can make arrangements to present it to you.
