Sharon Lynn McDermott

September 26, 1955 - April 19, 2013

Visitation: Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. , family present 6-8 p.m., at Anderson Funeral Home in Canton.

Service: Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 24 at Canton Lutheran Church.

         Sharon Lynn McDermott, age 57, passed away Friday, April 19, 2013 at Sanford USD Medical Center.  Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 24 at Canton Lutheran Church.  Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-8 p.m., family present 6-8 p.m., at Anderson Funeral Home in Canton. 

          Sharon was born September 26, 1955 in Canton, SD to LeRoy and Mary (Anderson) Aasheim.  She was baptized and confirmed at Canton Lutheran Church and graduated from Canton High School in 1973. 

          She married Charles Thomas “Chuck” Muller on February 28, 1975.  To this union, Charles Thomas, Jr, Heather, and Kylie were born.  Chuck passed away on May 25,  1978.  She married Robert “Bob” McDermott on September 4, 1981.  To this union, Jody and Brent were born. 

          In addition to taking care of her children, she had worked at Ottis Radio, K-Products, and ran an in-home daycare.  In her younger years she enjoyed playing bingo.  She loved her dogs, enjoyed collecting pigs, and could often be found cruising around listening to the oldies.  She had a knack for crafts and sewing.  She made quilts, dresses, and her own wedding and bridesmaid dresses.

          She will be remembered by her son, Brent (Kari), Sioux Falls, SD; daughters, Heather Muller (David Figg), Hampton, VA, Kylie (Jason) Kidd, Sioux Falls, SD, and Jody McDermott, Sioux Falls, SD; mother, Mary Nelson, Canton, SD; grandchildren, Parker Kidd, Jaden Kidd, and Gavin Muller; brothers, Roger Aasheim and Darryl Nelson, both of Canton, SD; sisters, Linda (Randy) Severson and Darla (Ray) Boren, all of Canton, SD; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. 

          She was preceded in death by her father, LeRoy;  son, Charles Thomas Muller, Jr.; and husband, Charles Muller.

    Sharon had a great sense of humor & was fun to be with .
