I’m so sorry for your loss. Lyle was a wonderful person. I knew him from Redeemer and visited him when he was at the park in Canton, selling the wonderful wood toys that he had made.

I’ve enjoyed a close friendship with Lyle over the years. We had a special bond because even though all of our parents could speak their “secret” Norwegian language they did not teach us the language. With divine humor, The Lord of the Harvest had Lyle & me both learn Spanish because of our foreign missionary service, so we were able to converse with our own “secret language” just like our parents used to do ! GOTCHA, Mom & Dad ! ! ! I miss you, Lyle — see you soon, “my forever friend” !

Be comforted in knowing that Lyle is experiencing joy in the presence of his Savior. We had the privilege of getting to know Lyle as he attended services and Sunday School class at First Baptist in Sioux Falls. His presence always brought joy as his attitude was always one of thankfulness. Not complaining, but rejoicing in every day that God gave him. A rare spirit.

His presence was always uplifting as his attitude was always one of thankfulness. Glad for every day that God gave him and for the people God brought into his life. We know that he has now heard from the Master, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

I’m sorry to hear of Lyle’s death. I worked with him when were both newbies in broadcasting at KAUS in Austin, Minnesota, in the mid-60s. Good guy. Very serious and sincere, as I recall.

I worshipped with Lyle at First Baptist Church in Sioux Falls and gave him quite a few rides to church in the church handicapped van. He was always very grateful for the ride and expressed it every time!

Lyle used to get scrap walnut from me and made great toys and games. I wonder how many ladder games Lyle made over the years. Lyle loved working and talking of his travels and the places he lived. I enjoyed his visits. He will be missed.
