Visitation: Family will greet visitors one hour prior to the service.

Service: Memorial services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 14, at Grand Valley Lutheran Church, Canton, SD. The family request you wear red to the service in honor of Wendell’s favorite color.

Wendell Ballinger, age 50, died suddenly Wednesday, September 11, 2019 in Vermillion, SD.  Memorial services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 14, at Grand Valley Lutheran Church, Canton, SD.  Family will greet visitors one hour prior to the service.  The family request you wear red to the service in honor of Wendell’s favorite color.

        Wendell Joseph was born on March 14, 1969 in Wakefield, NE to Lester Ballinger and Connie (Engelhart) Price.  He attended River Valley School in Rock Valley, IA.  He has lived at SESDAC in Vermillion for the past 26 years.  Wendell enjoyed his sensory rings, lawn mowers, race cars, animals, auctions, and being outdoors.  He loved Coca-Cola, the color red and music with a good beat.

        He is survived by his father, Lester (Bonnie) Ballinger, Davis, SD; mother, Connie Price, Walthill, NE; brothers, Dennis (Chelsey) Ballinger, Canton, SD and Ron (Bethanie) Ballinger, Canton, SD; sister, Jill (Kent) Fossum, Canton, SD; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.  www.andersonandsonsfh.com
