Tim was born on August 22, 1961 to Thomas and Frances (Behring) Winter in Canton, SD.  He attended school in Canton, graduating in 1979.  He attended technical college before joining the Army National Guard in 1981.  He married Michelle Crawford on April 30, 1982 at Canton Lutheran Church.

Tim’s strong work ethic started at a young age doing odds and ends jobs including working at the bakery and Kooima Manufacturing as a welder.  He then began working at Midwest Molding, working his way up to co-owner of Midwest Molding and Fastek.  After a failed attempt at retirement, he worked at Valley Machine in Rock Valley, IA until early 2020.

Tim loved sports.  He was an avid golfer who also enjoyed bowling, darts, and playing pool and softball.  He was a diehard Bears and Iowa Hawkeye fan and had a passion for dirt track racing but his biggest joy in life was spending time with his family.

Grateful for sharing his life are his wife of 38 years, Michelle; daughters, Stephanie Winter, Stacy (Daniel) Brown, Samantha Winter, and Shelby (Aaron) Van Voorst; grandchildren, Cameron, Jordan, Jaymison, and Presslee; mother, Frances Winter; siblings, Teresa Feucht, Diane (Chris) Holmberg, Denise Winter, and Bill Winter; in-laws, Kip (Julie) Crawford; sister-in-law, Sheryl Crawford; brother-in-law, Mike Crawford; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.  He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas; brother-in-law, Duane Feucht; and mother-in-law, Rosalie Crawford.
