Sioux Falls.  Thelma Lien, 97, formerly of Canton, passed away Monday, June 16, 2014 at Luther Manor in Sioux Falls.  Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 19, at Grand Valley Lutheran Church.  Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 to 9:00 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home, Canton, with family present from 7 to 9:00 p.m.

Thelma was born December 15, 1916 in Lincoln County, SD to Otto and Thora (Ensrud) Thorsheim.  She attended country school and graduated from Canton High School in 1936.

Thelma married her life partner, Kenneth Lien, August 12, 1939.  He preceded her in death, March 11, 1998.

She was active in her church and did much volunteer work.  Thelma enjoyed playing cards, especially with her ladies group.  Thelma was a wonderful mother and grandmother.

Grateful for having shared her life are her daughters, Virgene (Bill) Gast and Janet Austin; three grandchildren, Scott Enebo, Lori Dorchy, and Tom Austin; and seven great-grandchildren.
