Also found out a friend of mine and a sales guy doc used for a while Sean from Philadelphia passed away. He actually was doing the best I’d seen in a long time and was at the halfway house up until a couple months before I left. He maintained contact every couple weeks asking me about stuff and actually seemed like he cared. Always wanted to know about doc but I told him bro don’t go there anymore he will just use you plus Sean’s truest vice was marijuana I believe it would stupify him into thinking he could control alcohol. All I know is yesterday I was watching a documentary on how Sylvester Stallone wrote the film Rocky and reminded me of Sean as he always brought up those films he was like 10 years older heavier set could’ve still whooped doc but showed respect for me as the true Champ. I thought of Sean because of the character Spider Rico the name of Rocky opponent that was a dirty fighter and actually was a real professional boxer. But we always used that lingo when in conversation he looked up to me like I was Rocky. Literally I had wondered it had been a while since Sean got ahold of me so I check his Facebook page this is what I’ve found. Too Sean I wanted in that moment to call you and talk about Spider Rico and make you chuckle and see how you were man. I’m unsure how you passed, but too anybody that this gets too Sean was a true fighter in every sense of the word and struggled his way through life finding himself and circumstances to be so tough that if I were doing pretty bad I could compare it to Sean’s circumstance or atleast our mutual acquaintance Doc would and then I would think ya man if Sean can keep going then I can. He was as healthy as I’d ever seen and was preparing for a back operation which had been hindering him for a while and then I just never heard back. I know he had gotten his own place and was actually working the program right for once so it’s tough and I’m saddened by the loss of a man that could handle rejection and adversity of life like a walk in the park. I remember he said if I just ride with him one day he would give me like like 25% of his sales and after watching him grind through a couple tough fresh leads he created in a random neighborhood of Sioux Falls I said man I can’t handle this bro how do you do it. The rejection was something that was so vital, but he did and that’s what he needed to do to get by because even though he might not have been the greatest salesman he could be someone anyone could related to and had so much knowledge with that Philly accent that never left. As soon as I arrived to the arch halfway house Sean was already respected and let all the ex inmates or whomever that they should definitely respect me. He had a really nice electric bike and would ride occasionally for exercise but I could tell he was physically not the best because he always used to weight lift. At one residence off of grange and 16th by sanford hospital he kept a bench with regulation bar and plates stacked on it a couple years after we first met. I pray God be with him cuz I know his heart was there he said he always wanted to mend the relationship with his sister the only true family he had left.
