Sadie Faber, 96, of Inwood, Iowa, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2025, at Fellowship Village, surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at Inwood Christian Reformed Church, Inwood, IA. Visitation, with family present, will be Monday, July 28 from 5-7 p.m. at Inwood Christian Reformed Church, Inwood, IA.
Sadie was born on March 29, 1929 in Corsica, SD to Pierre and Trina Folkerts. She attended rural country school for 8 years and graduated from West Lyon in 1947.
In 1950, she married her beloved husband, James Faber, and shared this union for 75 years. Sadie and Jim raised four children, whom all proceeded her in death: Karen Bouwman, Dennis Faber, Sue Bliek, and infant son Michael Dean. Together, they built a life full of faith, love and hard work. Sadie worked many jobs, including being a nurses aide, house cleaner, and furniture upholstery. She also loved working in the field driving the tractor and remodeling houses alongside her husband. Remodeling homes brought them across 8 states, where she contributed her time, energy, and talent to building and renovating many homes. Then, at the age of 94, she said “that’s enough” and officially retired.
A devoted follower of Jesus, Sadie had a heart that welcomes everyone. She was a longtime member of First Christian Reformed Church in Inwood, where she lived out her faith through service, hospitality, and love.
Sadie had a deep appreciation for God’s creation, she loved her flowers and watching birds. Known for her homemade pies, especially apple, she took joy in baking from scratch and sharing her delicious treats with others.
Her legacy is one of faith, family, and unconditional love.
Surviving relatives include her husband, Jim; sons-in-law, Roger Bouwman and Doug Bliek; former daughter-in-law, Bev Goree and her husband Allen; sister Bess (Norm) Bolkema; brother Roy (Lois) Folkerts; special brother, Anton (Albertha) Kampen; 13 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 22 great-great grandchildren.
Memorials can be directed to Justice For All.
