Roberta Kathryn Anderson died Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Good Sam Sioux Falls Village.  Memorial services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 24th at Canton Lutheran Church.

        Roberta was born on May 18, 1921 on a farm near Bristol, SD to Bert and Ethlyn (Hannon) McKittrick.  She graduated from Andover High School in 1939 and moved to Sioux Falls, SD, where she continued her education and graduated from the Sioux Falls South Dakota Beauty Academy with a beautician’s degree.

Roberta met Floyd at the Arkota Dance Ball Room in Sioux Falls, SD.  They were married on Dec 10, 1942 and kicked up their heels for over 50 years.  They owned Lena’s café and enjoyed traveling.  Roberta enjoyed her sports to the max!  She was a well-known fixture at the Canton C-Hawk games and was an avid follower of the Minnesota Twins. She was a life member of Canton Lutheran Church and volunteered at the church and the VFW Auxiliary.

Roberta and Floyd had 6 children.  Clarice (passed in infancy), Gloria (Marv) Schulz, Ronald (Deb), Leon (Susan), Leola (Robert) Klosterbuer and Richard (Deloris); eight grandchildren-Dustan, Jerod and Katrena (Leola’s), Jodi, Austin and Tyler (Leon’s) and Sarah and Mollie (Ronald’s) and 10 great-grandchildren.

    You’re mom was a hoot! Her smile and laugh were infectious! I loved in her obituary where you mentioned how her and your dad met. I have fond memories of your dad as the janitor at E. O. Lawrence. They enjoyed life and each other. What more can we ask for?
