Rhonda Sue Wynkoop was born on October 3, 1960 and passed away to the Lord’s loving and waiting arms on March 3, 2026.

Rhonda was born to Robert C. and Frances M. Sprague in Gettysburg, SD and raised by Wall Lake, SD. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She attended West Central Schools in Hartford, SD and graduated the Class of 1978.

Rhonda met and married her husband Kevin Wynkoop of 41 years in Brookings, SD on May 26, 1984 and moved to Visalia, CA. She graduated from San Joaquin Valley College in 1985 and worked as a Dental Technician for 20 years and promoted to Office Manager. Most recently she worked for Hodgin Dental Lab before retiring in November of 2025.

Rhonda and Kevin raised 2 wonderful children, Frances Wynkoop and Holden Wynkoop both of Visalia, CA. They were the joy of her life and raised them to be committed in their faith. To grow her family’s faith, she decided to also be confirmed in her Catholic faith.

Rhonda Sue will be forever remembered for being caring, giving, clever, silly, fun, helpful, artistic, and crafty. She was an avid shopper, coffee lover, and addicted to rock hunting. Her favorite places to spend time were Harmony and Cambria in California, South Dakota, and anywhere her family was. Rhonda always put others before herself, she made sure no one was left out. She loved to decorate for the holidays, and enjoyed dressing up for occasions like Halloween, Renaissance fairs, and Star Wars characters.

Rhonda always wanted to move back to South Dakota with her family. The family decided Rhonda be buried where her roots began.

Rhonda is lovingly remembered by her husband, Kevin; children, Frances and Holden Wynkoop; brother, Phillip (Rose) Sprague; sister, Janelle (Paul) Thom; brother-in-law Keith (Bonnie) Wynkoop; nieces, nephews, family, friends, and many caring friends.

Rhonda is proceeded in death by her father Robert C. Sprague, mother Frances M. Sprague, sister Carolyn Sprague, father- and mother-in-law Raymond and Marilyn Wynkoop.
