Paula was born on March 17, 1951 in Pickstown, SD to Paul and Marjorie (Wheatley) Nelson.  She graduated from Chamberlain High School in 1969 and later attended USD.

While visiting friends, Paula was introduced to a handsome gentleman named Mike Feucht.  They soon began dating and were married during a blizzard on November 11, 1972 in Chamberlain, SD.  The couple made their home in Sioux Falls for several years before moving to an acreage near Canton, SD.  The couple was blessed with two children, Jeremy and Laura.

Paula’s love of numbers and eye for detail allowed her to thrive during her working years.  She began her career in banking.  She then worked as bookkeeper at Central Baptist Church in Sioux Falls. She ended her working days as the Lincoln County Auditor where she was often awarded for her error free annual audits.

In her spare time, Paula enjoyed camping, fishing, playing bunco, and participating in her coffee and extension groups.  She was also an excellent cook.  Paula adored her grandchildren and loved spending time with her family, especially during Christmas.

Paula will be remembered for being a kind, caring and supportive mother, nana, wife, and friend who always put others before herself.

Paula is survived by her husband of 52 years, Mike; son, Jeremy; daughter, Laura Mattern; grandchildren, Tori, Laynie, Caden and Shelby; brother, Howard (Diane) Nelson; sister, Dianne Graves; and numerous extended family and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Gene Graves.
