Service: Memorial services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 15 at Anderson Funeral Home in Canton, SD.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. 

Olive Scott, age 96, died Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Good Samaritan Society Canton. Memorial services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 15 at Anderson Funeral Home in Canton, SD.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Olive was born on May 17, 1924 in Canton, SD to Albert and Lenora (Pompey) Anderson.  She grew up and attended school in Sioux City.  Olive worked in the kitchen at the Catholic Hospital in Sioux City.   She married LeRoy Scott on July 25, 1947 in Pelican Rapids, MN.  Dwight “Butch” Scott was born to this union.  In addition to raising Butch, Olive enjoyed helping people, reading, and babysitting her grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Dwight “Butch” (Carol) Scott, Canton, SD; grandchildren, Missy (Pat) Simpson, Canton, SD, Kim Scott (Chuck Van Engen), Hawarden, IA, and Josh (Jessy) Scott, Canton, SD; 6 great-grandchildren; niece, Gloria Summey; along with numerous extended relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy in 1981; her infant twin sister; her parents; sister, June Miller; and granddaughter, Michelle Scott.  www.andersonandsonsfh.com
