Odell Plucker

June 12, 1952 - July 19, 2023

Service: A graveside service will take place at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Forest Hill Cemetery in Canton, SD.   

Odell Plucker, age 71, died Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at Sanford USD Medical Center.  A graveside service will take place at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Forest Hill Cemetery in Canton, SD.

          Odell was born on June 12, 1952 in Sioux Falls, SD to Wessel and Kate (Schriever) Plucker.  He graduated from Canton High School.  Through the years, Odell worked as a custodian at Canton High School, the tile plant in Canton, and later Hanson Concrete in Sioux Falls, SD.

          Odell enjoyed country music, MN Vikings football, playing pool on his phone, and classic cars.  He loved spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews.  He will also be remembered for joking around, especially with medical staff.

          Odell is survived by his brother, Alan Plucker; sister, Kathy Geiman; sisters-in-law, Karen Plucker and Donna “Cookie” Plucker; brother-in-law, Dean Johnson; along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Elroy and Wendell; sisters, Karen Van Gronigen, Audrey Johnson, and Ardyce Fossum; brothers-in-law, Perk Van Gronigen and Dennis Fossum; and sister-in-law, Janel Plucker.

    plus knew all other brothers and sisters.
