Michael Paulson

January 9, 1976 - June 25, 2022

Visitation: Family will greet visitors one hour prior to the service.

Service: Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 2, 2022 at Lands Lutheran Church, rural Hudson, SD.

Michael James Paulson was born on January 9, 1976 in Sioux Falls, SD to Donna M. (Villeneuve) and Donald H. Paulson.   He had a twin brother, Jan Dean.  Mike attended Crippled Children’s Hospital and School, now called Lifescape.

                After age 19, Mike moved to a group home at Dakotabilities.  Throughout his life, Mike required numerous hospitalizations but was a tough young man and a fighter his whole life.  Due to COVID 19, he was hospitalized on May 1, 2022.  He was discharged on June 22, 2022 but passed away 3 days later at the Sanford USD Medical Center ER.

Mike enjoyed his huge video/tie collection and listening to his CD’s.  He loved to flirt with the nurses and was a ladies’ man.  He enjoyed all outings, including the Halloween/fall bonfires at the Tom Landis farm, going to Trent, Disney on Ice, and musical concerts.

                Mike is preceded in death by his grandparents, Herman and Edna Paulson and Fred and Marie Villeneuve; aunt, Helen Nelson; twin brother, Jan Dean; his mother, Donna; and niece, Josephine Edna Luciano.

                He is survived by his father, Don, Canton, SD; sister, Lynn Paulson, Worthing, SD; brothers, Don Jr. (Jenn), Stuttgart, Germany; and David, Worthing, SD; 4 nieces; 3 nephews; 1 great-niece; and 1 great- nephew; along with numerous extended relatives and friends.

Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 2, 2022 at Lands Lutheran Church, rural Hudson, SD.  Family will greet visitors one hour prior to the service.   Mike’s family wishes memorials be directed to Dakotabilities Meaningful Day Program.  www.andersonandsonsfh.com

    So sorry & sad to hear about Michael! I used to work at Valley & get Mike ready for the day! Even after I left there whenever I went to see Mike he would just hang on to me!! Missed him so much, am sorry to say it had been quite sometime since I seen him! Thoughts & prayers to all of his family!
