Lorraine “Tooty” Voigt

March 3, 1936 - November 22, 2014

Visitation: Visitation will be Monday from 2-8 p.m., family present 6-8 p.m., at Anderson Funeral Home in Canton, SD. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m.

Service: Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 25 at Hudson Lutheran Church, Hudson, SD.

                Lorraine “Tooty” Hermanson Voigt, age 78, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Sanford USD Medical Center.  Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 25 at Hudson Lutheran Church, Hudson, SD.  Visitation will be Monday from 2-8 p.m., family present 6-8 p.m., at Anderson Funeral Home in Canton, SD.  A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m.

                Lorraine was born on March 3, 1936 to Gilbert and Tillie (Jepp) Ryken.  She graduated from Hudson High School in 1953.  Lorraine was united in marriage to Donald “Bud” Hermanson on May 15, 1954. The couple made their home near Hudson, SD.   Bud passed away in 2002.  Lorraine married Roger Voigt on October 14, 2006.  The couple made their home in Canton.

                 Lorraine enjoyed sewing, cooking, and shopping for a bargain.   She had a special interest in horses and participated in roping as a heeler for many years.

                Lorraine is survived by her husband, Roger; sons, Dale (Brenda) Hermanson and David Hermanson; grandchildren, Ashley (Justin) Kerr, Tawnya Hermanson, C.J. Hermanson, Anna Hermanson, Amber (Keith) Grotliuschen, Alyssa (Chris) Sutton, and Donald (Mindy) Hermanson; 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Lawrence (Hilma) Ryken; step-children, Chelaine (Cary) Villanueve, Stephine Schnabel, Wendy (Wayne) Stowsend, and Tim Voigt; and special friends that called her grandma,  Katie and Taylor Boote.

                Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald Hermanson; and grandchild, David Hermanson.  Memorials may be directed to Love, Inc. in Canton, SD.

    So many great memories of Aunt Tooty, especially Christmas at Grandma & Grandpa Hermanson’s when she, Aunt Karen and Aunt Murlene would get the giggles.
    There was a great reunion in heaven; I’m sure she was welcomed with open arms.

    When we were kids, we all lived in the same neighborhood. I saw the news about your Mother in the Sioux Valley News, and it took me way back to those days. Best wishes to all of you, and I am sorry to hear about Lorraine.
