Judy Karen Naglestad, age 74, died peacefully Friday, January 20, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family.  Visitation, with family present, will be Thursday, January 26 from 5-7 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home in Canton, SD.  A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Forest Hill Cemetery.  Please meet at the funeral home prior to the burial.

Judy was born on April 5, 1948 in Dell Rapids, SD to Wilbur and Adelaide (Thompson) Ellis.  She graduated from Colman, SD.  She married Joel Naglestad on September 14, 1974 in Luverne, MN.  The couple lived south of Canton for a year before moving to their current farm north of town.

Judy was a soft-spoken woman who loved spending time with her family and visiting with her friends, especially her life-long friend, Marilyn.  She took pride in keeping things neat and orderly within the household.  Everything had its place.  She could always be found in her little room (Den) watching her favorite soaps on tv, reading a book, working on a crossword puzzle, or tackling an occasional game of solitaire.

Judy worked at K-Products in Canton, SD for over 24 years before they closed.  She worked at ESI for 9 years until retiring in 2011.  She did a wonderful job in her rolls as a wife, mother, and grandmother.  She will be greatly missed by her family.

Grateful for sharing her life are her husband of 48 years, Joel; sons, Jason Naglestad, Canton, SD and Joseph (Ralandi) Naglestad, Sioux Falls, SD; grandchildren, Dylan, Hailee, and Tate; sister, Donna Ellis, Dell Rapids; along with numerous extended relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Beverly Ellis, Delores (Dee) Willmott, and Lona Gardner.    www.andersonandsonsfh.com

My sympathy to all of Judy’s family and friends.
I worked with Judy for 20 years, my favorite memories—when soft spoken Judy “rarely” but on occasion would tell us what she was really thinking. Priceless!
God Bless Judy–May you rest in peace.
