Judith “Judy” Ann Florell, age 73, passed away Monday, May 28, 2018 at Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, SD. Private family burial will take place at a later date.
Judy was born on March 19, 1945 in Canton, SD to Kenneth and Gladys (Johnson) Florel. She grew up in Canton, graduating from Canton High School. She then attended Nettleton College. For the last 14 years she had worked as a transcriptionist at Avera. Judy enjoyed old movies, reading, sewing, painting, especially watercolors, and spending time with her family. She is survived her sister, Susan Gunderson, Sioux Falls, SD; brother, Ronald Florell, LaPlata, MD; nieces, Amy Gunderson, Cindy Halma, and Kerry Dyresen; nephew, Sean Faust; along with numerous extended relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Duane, and sister, Wendy. Judy’s family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Dougherty Hospice House for their excellent care during Judy’s stay.
