I wanted to say that I am so sorry to hear about Johhny. I was in Annapolis, MD when I heard about it. I instantly broke into tears. Let me tell you a little about what Johnny meant to me. I attended school with his children in Parker, South Dakota. I knew of him but never really met him until my aunt Glenda introduced us. Little did I know I would later develop a relationship with this person. He was the kindest, gentlest, and put other people first, type of person. He was not just my aunt’s friend, he became a part of our family. I remember last September, Johnny dropped what he was doing to help me move, him and I were riding in his truck when the straps holding my mattress down loosened up. We had to stop in a busy area on 12th street in Sioux Falls, and run out and tighten them up. Him and I laughed so hard because we looked like a bunch of first timers. He did things for me that my dad should have been doing. He never said no, and he always made time for others. Including the time he helped clean up trees at my grandmas farm. He would hunt out at the Pick farm and, and in return always offered to lend a helping hand. He always made a good time out of something that would not normally be enjoyable. I will never forget this man. He has touched so many lives in the littlest ways. I would tell people to celebrate the joy Johnny brought to his friends and family’s lives. It is a sad time, but it’s also a celebration of the life he had, the laughs he produced, and the memories and impressions he left with us. We love you Johnny and know that you will never be forgotten.
