Service: Her funeral will be at 2PM on Tuesday Dec. 30, at Canton Lutheran Church, Canton, SD.

Elaine Joan Wallem Harris, 69, passed away on December 27, 2014 at Fairview Hospital in Wyoming Minnesota. Her funeral will be at 2PM on Tuesday Dec. 30, at Canton Lutheran Church, Canton, SD.  Visitation will be from 12 noon – 1:30 at the church prior to the service.

    Elaine was born on November 25, 1945 in Canton, South Dakota to Anne (Enstad) and Luther Wallem.  She was baptized on February 4, 1946 at home.  Elaine grew up in Canton, graduated from Canton High School in 1963 and worked at Bidwell Corporation for over 40 years.  She was known as “Ducky” by many that loved her.

     Elaine cherished her three grandchildren, Shelby (23), Andrew (18, her Main Man) and Maggie (7).  She moved to Minnesota in 2011 allowing her to enjoy them immensely over the last 3 1/2 years.

     Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, Anne and Luther Wallem, Canton; and two sisters LaVon and Charlotte. Elaine is survived by her son, Steven, daughter-in-law Rachel, and grandchildren Shelby, Andrew, and Maggie, Centerville, MN; sister, Ruthmary (Wallem) and husband Vern Ruhland, Green Bay, WI; brothers, Arvene and wife Margie Wallem, Tabor, SD and Loren Wallem, Canton.She is survived and loved by nephews Joe Ruhland, Paul Wallem, and Jeff Wallem and her adopted sisters Linda, Kathy, Mary, Marsha, Pam & Carol Oakland.
