Dixie Lea Lauritzen, 66 years of age, passed away Sunday, June 8, 2014 at Dougherty Hospice after a courageous battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held at 11a.m. Wednesday, June 11, at Redeemer Free Lutheran Church in Canton. Family will greet visitors Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home, Canton.
Dixie was born to Earl and Beatrice (Sturgis) Bumstead on February 15, 1948. She graduated from Maple Valley Community High School in 1966. She was united to Roger Ewoldt. From this union, three daughters were born. Dixie married Evert “Fluff” Lauritzen on December 7, 1985. They made their home in Canton where Dixie operated a daycare and worked as a cook at many establishments.
She loved playing Bunco, cards and decorating for Christmas. She loved having her grandbabies over and spending time with her daughters.
Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Fluff; her children- Danelle Letscher, Daneen (Jason) Gannon, and Dyan Kumlien, all of Canton; her siblings- Karen Virgil, Rochester, MN, Connie Riecks, Boca Raton, FL, and Ronald Riecks, Pocatello, ID; and her eight grandchildren- Joseph, Ariana, Dayton, Katee, Grace, Kollin, Jewel, and Cain. She was preceded in death by her parents.
