Chad Johnson, 45 passed away Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Hendricks, MN.  His memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, at Harrisburg United Methodist Church.  Visitation will be Friday from 5 – 7:00 p.m. at the church in Harrisburg.

Chad Wayne Johnson was born September 3, 1973 in Sioux Falls to Wayne and Donna (Pierson) Johnson.  He attended school in Harrisburg, graduating in 1992.  He then attended SDSU and Southeast Tech, graduating with a AAS in Civil Engineering Technology. He was employed at Concrete Materials working as an aggregate and asphalt sales rep.

From the minute you met Chad, you were greeted by his big smile. He enjoyed keeping busy – hunting, fishing, golfing, and laughing – with family and friends.  At home he was always on to the next project, rearranging and cleaning the garage, blowing leaves, using power tools, and feeding his “friends” (the birds). He loved his family with his whole heart and his daughter was the center of his world. There are no words to accurately describe how badly he will be missed.

Those grateful for having shared his life are: his, wife, Jill; his daughter, Kelsey; his parents, Wayne and Donna Johnson; mother and father-in-law, Linda and Craig Van Bockern; brother and sister-in-law, Shane and Nikki Van Bockern; niece, Kimberly Van Bockern; nephew, Cole Van Bockern; best friend, Jon Vedral; numerous family and endless friends.

There are no words that I could say that will take the pain that you must be feeling away. My heart aches at the thought of this wonderful person being gone. Jill, Kelsey, Wayne & Donna, Craig & Linda. May you all know that our thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this most difficult time. May you all find peace in knowing God has his arms wrapped around you.

Wayne, Donna and family, this is so heartbreaking to hear of Chad’s passing. To lose a child so young and to leave a young family behind… Words cannot begin to describe the depth of sorrow you must feel, but in time I pray the sting of death will be replaced with cherished memories that even in times of longing a smile will come to your face remembering how he lived and loved. God’s peace and comfort be near you all during this difficult time.
