I have thought about Russ many times over the years wondering where he ever landed only to see he landed in Heaven. We had some great times together. I will always remember his smile and his laugh.

Rhonda, I was saddened to read about Russell’s passing. He was the first person that I met when we moved to Salem. Russ and your dad helped us clean up the house before we moved into it. We were cleaning the garage and Russ decided to hit me in the butt with a board. It just so happened that the board had a nail in it-ouch!! I live in Sioux Falls, but teach in Canton. In April, we had an inservice so a bunch of teachers went downtown to eat and I ran into Russ. I ate my dessert with him and talked about “old times”. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Rhonda–I am so sorry for your loss–and I am sure it’s compounded by the distance. I hope you and your family are doing well. It’s very easy for me to think collectively of all you “kids” as the youngster pranksters you were. You need to know that you are always and forever a part of Center Lutheran–you’re Swedish for crying out loud! We are on facebook under Salem Lutheran Church–stop in to say hi or salevlua@triotel.net. Hugs to you and yours, helen & don jacobson
