Myrna Armstrong, 84, passed away Sunday, May 12, 2013 at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 16, at Canton Lutheran Church. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2- 8:00 p.m. at Anderson Funeral home in Canton, with family present from 6-8:00 p.m. Burial of her cremains will be Friday at Forest Hill Cemetery near Canton.
Myrna was born October 21, 1928 at Rock Valley, IA to Albert and Emilie (Tank) Klein. She grew up near Inwood, IA and graduated from Inwood High School in 1946.
She married Charles Armstrong October 12, 1952 at Alvord, IA. They made their home on a farm near Canton and later moved into town. Her husband died in 2006. Myrna enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and crossword puzzles. She was a member of Canton Lutheran Church and WELCA since 1959.
Myrna is survived by her children- Jean Armstrong, Inwood, Jeffrey and Kevin Armstrong, both of Canton; one granddaughter, Lisa Armstrong (John Pederson), Canton; one great-granddaughter, Alyssa; and 2 brothers, Ladean (Lois) Klein and Wayne Klein, both of Sioux Falls. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and sister, Lois Sharon. andersonandsonsfh.com
We are so saddened to hear of Aunt Myrna’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. My Mom, Alice Ramstad, sends her love and condolences, also. We have good memories of visits with your Mom and Dad and you kids, on the farm!!
