Melissa Jo Dethleusay, 34, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, May 3, 2018 at her home in Worthing. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Bethany Reformed Church in Canton. Visitation with family present will be Monday, May 7, from 2 to 8 p.m. at the church.
Melissa was born December 16, 1983 in Ortonville, MN to Jerry and Lori (Anderson) Johnson. She graduated from Yellow Medicine East High School in 2002. Melissa married Sam Dethleusay June 7, 2014 in Canton. Melissa and her husband own and operate the Black Angus Steakhouse in Canton.
Melissa was truly a beautiful person. She loved to scrapbook, go camping, get her nails and hair done, and spend time with her kids. She enjoyed listening to music, watching her favorite TV programs, and shopping with her husband. She also loved spending time with her sister, brother and nephews. Her family meant the world to her. She cared so much for everyone and had a heart of gold. All though her life was short, she made many great memories and she believed in everyone even when they didn’t believe in themselves.
Melissa is survived by her husband, Sam, Worthing, SD; her children- daughters, Lexi and Skyler and son, Jordan; sister Amanda (Corey) Heidebrink, Hazel Run, MN, and brother, Michael (Jess) Johnson, Milbank, SD. She was preceded in death by her parents.
