M. John Olson

John was born to Ben and Edna Tuttle Olson on March 30, 1943 at home in Klondike, Iowa, and passed to his Heavenly home on October 29, 2023.  He was #5 of 12 children, of which there are only 3 remaining.  His grandmother, father, and 8 of the 12 children died of Huntington’s Disease, as well.

John worked maintenance at meat packing plants, including Greenlee’s in Sioux Falls, until 1982 when he started at Rocky Flats in Golden, Colorado, until it closed and he retired in 2005.  John was a high school grad and thoroughly enjoyed the unique education he received at the Flats.

John enjoyed yard work, camping, fishing and big game hunting.  He made the best elk chili!

John is survived by his loving wife, Cathy, of Windsor, Colorado, 1 brother Al of Miles City, MT, sister Edna Pesall of Rapid City, SD, and sister Mary Wiebe of Tea, SD, numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.

John was very proud of his faith in his Lord Jesus, and happily took His hand when He came to take him home with Him!
