Orange City, IA- Louis A. Keonig, 78, formally of Canton, SD, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls. His funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 16 at Anderson Funeral Home in Canton, SD. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-8 pm, family present from 6-8pm at Anderson Funeral Home .
Louis A.Keonig was born on March 25, 1938 to Tony and Evelyn (Tradup) Keonig in Sioux Falls, SD. He graduated from Canton High School in 1956. He married Judith Lewis in Sioux Falls, SD on April 18, 1959. She passed away in 1999. He married Donna Jensen in 2003. Louis owned and operated the Black Angus steakhouse in Canton until 1983. He then worked as pipefitter/welder until his retirement. Louis enjoyed hunting, golfing, and being outdoors.
Grateful for sharing his life are his wife, Donna; daughters, Kandy Strum and Kelly (Tom) Kandt, all of Sioux Falls, SD; step-daughters, Debbie Strand, Grantsburg, WI and Diane (Tom) Van Rooyen, Hudson, SD; sisters, Linda (Jeffrey) Anderson, Osakis, MN and Kathy (Greg) Johnson, Canistota, SD; grandchildren, Ian(Britt), Kara(Ryan), Eric(Shyanne), and Macey; 4 great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren along with numerous extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Judith.

We will miss our neighbor and friend, Lou. He was always ready to share a story, help with yard work, and just a pleasant man to have as our neighbor.
