Larry Paul Frislie was born October 31, 1956 to John and Bev (Brurud) Frislie. He passed away May 12, 2021 at Sanford Canton-Inwood Hospital after having lung cancer. Larry grew up in Canton and was the 4th of 6 children. He graduated from CHS in 1975 and was baptized and confirmed at Canton Lutheran. While working at Anderson Furniture in high school he learned to install carpet. This turned into a lifetime profession; first in Denver, CO for many years and later in Yuma, AZ. After moving back to Canton, he started Just Floor It, a flooring and construction business. Larry enjoyed visiting friends and family, often times only briefly as he was always on the go. In his spare time he enjoyed carpentry, being an entrepreneur, joke telling and riding his Harley.
Larry was preceded in death by his brother Steve, grandparents; Til and Lydia Frislie; and Oscar and Hazel Brurud. He is survived by his parents of Canton; sisters, Vicki (Bruce) Larson, Fargo; Sonja (Mick) Tyrrell, Canton; brothers, Craig (Cheryl) Frislie, Monument, CO and Brian (Sue) Frislie, Marietta, GA; sister-in-law, Paulette Frislie, Canton, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
A short Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, May 22 at 10 am (prior to the poker run benefit), at Forest Hill Cemetery, west of Canton. Refreshments will be served immediately following the service at Redeemer Free Lut In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Redeemer Free Lutheran or the stained-glass window fund at Canton Lutheran.
Thank you to everyone who has been so caring during this time of Larry’s illness; family and friends, Trevor and the Hospice staff; the staff at Canton Inwood Hospital for their exceptional care, and Pastor Tom Gilman’s visits and prayers. We are truly blessed to have so many great friends and family.
