Joan was born on June 24, 1949 in Webster, SD to Jerome and Jenny (Tostenson) Enstad.  She graduated from Lincoln High School.  In 1983 she met the love of her life, Loren Myers, Jr.  They were married on September 8, 1984 at East Side Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls, SD. They enjoyed going dancing and spending time with family and friends.

Joan was 1 of 4 children. She was a very loving and protective big sister to her brother Bob Enstad. She lived with her brother Marv Enstad until the last few months of her life.

Joan found joy in joking around and spending time with family and friends. She was like a grandma to many of her nieces and nephews and loved spoiling them with hugs and kisses.  She had many fond memories of her time working at Austad’s Golf and Kenworth including the lifelong friendships that she had made.

Joan is survived by her step-son, James (Rhonda) Myers; nephew, Bret (Tracy) Myers; nieces, Tami (Mike Ellis) Toumberlin, Crystal (Mark) Russell, and Ashley (Breanna) Enstad; great-nieces and nephews, Molly, Dylan, Serenity, Isabel, Madison, Tiana, Rhys; along with numerous extended family and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Loren; and brothers, Marv, Bob and Gordon Enstad.  www.andersonandsonsfh.com

Our sympathies to Joan’s family. We are leaving on a trip and will not be able to be at visitation or funeral. But certainly wanted to acknowledge the family and what a good friend Joan was. We shared good funny moments and enjoyed being together. She was a wonderful person and will certainly be missed. May God grant you peace and comfort in the days ahead.
