Jeffery “Jeff” Ness, age 60, died unexpectedly Monday, November 11, 2019 at his home.  Memorial services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Anderson Funeral Home in Canton with burial to follow at Canton Lutheran Cemetery.

Jeffery Allen Ness was born on July 24, 1959 in Sioux Falls, SD the son of Lyle and Sonja (Lovaas) Ness.  He had fond memories of working on the oil rigs in New Mexico back in the early 80’s.  Jeff was also very proud of his hard work and long tenure at Boyer Sand & Rock.  Jeff loved telling stories about his experiences with his coworkers, the projects he was working on, and adventures he had while working at Boyer.  Jeff previously worked on a horse ranch in Oklahoma where he loved breeding, training, and riding horses, especially his horse, Rainy.

If he wasn’t working, you could usually find him kicking back with a Corona in his hand.  Jeff had an infectious laugh that made everyone around him want to laugh too.  He was very proud of his 1952 Ford and always had intentions of restoring his late 40’s model panel wagon.

Grateful for having shared his life are his daughters, Amber Ness (Dan Harris) and Ashley Ness (Joshua Merrick); son, Evan Holt (Kelsi Mace); father, Lyle Ness; grandchildren, Tama, Levi, Nelle, Opal, Sebastian, Micah, Alijah, Bella, and Kaiah; siblings, Julie Dobbe (Steve Dobbe), Jeaneen Hutson, Jackie Green, Carol Rutherford (Greg Rutherford), and John Reiners (Michelle McKee); step father, Curly Knorr; along with numerous extended relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Sonja Knorr.
