Visitation: Visitation for Janet and and her father, Bill McCann, will be on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 from 5-7 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home in Canton.
Service: A private family graveside service will be held for Bill and Janet on Wednesday, January 5, 2022.
Janet Mary McCann, age 68, died Sunday, December 19, 2021 at Avantara Norton in Sioux Falls, SD. Visitation for Janet and and her father, Bill McCann, will be on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 from 5-7 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home in Canton. A private family graveside service will be held for both on Wednesday.
Janet was born on January 22, 1953 to William “Bill” and Helen (Lynn) McCann. She grew up Bridgewater, SD before moving to Canton, SD in 1968. Janet graduated from Canton High School in 1973. She then attended the University of SD Springfield for a year. Janet proudly served her country in the US Army. After her discharge, she returned to Canton where she worked at the Canton nursing home and Keystone Treatment Center. Janet loved cats and surfing the web.
She is survived by her father, Bill; siblings: Barb (Ed) Meyer, Judy Sperling, Connie Sweeter, Kevin (Cheryl) McCann, Kathy McCann, and Carol Kruse; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her mother and several cats. www.andersonandsonsfh.com

I loved to hear Helen tell the story of when our moms went to the hospital at the same time to have us I was a quick birth, not so with Janet. Always a smile and a nice visit when I would run into Janet. Such a sweet soul. Sending sympathy, love and prayers to the McCann family
