Inwood, IA. James Darvin Kroger, 82, passed away Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Fellowship Village at Inwood, IA. His Celebration of Life will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, at Canton Lutheran Church. A private family burial will be held prior to the service. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to Inwood Fire and Rescue (601 S. Oak, P.O. Box 112, Inwood, IA 51240.)
Jim was born December 17, 1934 on a farm northeast of Inwood, IA to Louis and Anna (Mundt) Kroger. He attended school in Inwood, graduating in 1952.
Jim was united in marriage to Enola Ekle June 14, 1957 at Canton Lutheran Church. The made their home and farmed near Inwood, where they raised their 6 children. Jim loved farming, riding on his tractors and operating machinery. His love for farming began at an early age having grown up on a farm. He began combining when he was in the 8th grade. He enjoyed playing cards, shooting pool and was an avid Twins and Cubs fan.
Grateful for having shared his life are his wife of 60 years, Enola; 4 sons- Richard, Sioux Falls, Mark, Canton, Timothy (Carla), Inwood, Steven (Laura) Watertown; 2 daughters- Suzanne (Steve) Peterman, Elk Point, and Vanessa (Todd) Baldwin, Canton; 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Sam (Deb) Kroger, Inwood; sister- Marlys Shaff, Sioux Falls; and many other extended family. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Seth Kroger, brother, Howard Kroger, and sister, Joyce Rise.

Enola, I was sorry to read about Jim in the Argus. Please accept my sympathy. I was thinking about all the good times we had at the Sears store. I enjoyed your friendship very much. Take care. God bless you and your family.
I worked with Enola at Sears. I am the president of Sears retirees. We have lost track of Enola and would like her address.
