     Harriet Lavonne Behring, 86, went to be with the Lord on April 21, 2023, at Northern Nevada Sierra Medical Center in Reno, NV, surrounded by her family.  Memorial services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 27, 2023 at Canton Lutheran Church, Canton, SD.  Family will greet visitors one hour prior to the service.

                Harriet Lavonne Wold, was born April 21, 1937, in Renner, South Dakota, to Sylvester and Marie Wold. She graduated from Baltic High School in 1955. She worked at John Morrell for 35 years. While working at John Morrell, she met and married Arthur Fritzof Behring. They were married on July 12, 1957, at Renner Lutheran Church in Renner, South Dakota. They lived in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and were blessed with four beautiful children, Julie, Joyce, Fritz and Deborah.

                Harriet ensured her family had everything they needed and more. When she wasn’t working, she was very involved with her kids’ activities, she even served as 4H leader for several years. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends and having her grandchildren visit as often as possible for summers and holidays, every year. She had immaculate penmanship, enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles with her grandchildren, daily crossword puzzles, and later in life, found a love for Bingo. Harriet loved with her whole heart, she loved her family, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and every family pet.

                She is survived by daughter Julie Wilson, daughter Joyce Beard, son Fritz Behring and daughter Deborah Reese, nine grandchildren, Nicole Chavez (Henry), Chantelle Broome (Matt), Brittany Helmick (Dakota), Brandon Beard, Bethany Manry (Jacob), Brianna McCarson (Dalton), Nathan Beard, Peyton Hsieh-Behring and Kolten Hsieh-Behring, and ten great grandchildren, Micah, Kiana, Brayden and Elianna, Leilani, Emeila and Dawson, John and Kylie and Issabella. She is also survived by her brother Raymond Wold (Sharon) and sister Colleen Ruiz (Alex).

                She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Fritzof Behring, her parents, Sylvester Wold and Marie Tulio (Sam), brother Sylvester Wold Jr, brother Jerald Wold, brother Richard Wold, sister Sheryl Dietz, and son-in-law Doug Beard.
