Rebecca Anne Earll (Becky) was taken from us too soon on December 31, 2022. She was an innocent victim of an automobile crash. A Celebration of her Life will take place at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Canton Lutheran Church. Visitation, at the church, will begin at noon on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Feeding South Dakota or the United Way.
Becky was born February 25, 1982 to David and Marcia (Anderson) Earll. She grew up in Canton and graduated from Canton High School in 2000.
Pursuing her childhood dream of becoming a teacher, Becky studied at Northwestern College in Orange City, IA and graduated in 2004 with a degree in elementary education.
She took a position in Gayville, SD where she taught and earned her Master’s Degree through USD.
Her dream job became available in Canton several years later, and she was hired as a math specialist at Lawrence Elementary. She loved working with her “kiddos”!
Her greatest love was her 3 nieces, playing with them and spoiling them!
Becky will be dearly missed by her parents Dave and Marc, Canton; brother Brad (Jill), sister Courtney, and nieces, Brooklyn, Madison, and Elizabeth, all of Sioux Falls; aunt and uncles, John and Peg Anderson and Gary Anderson of Canton: along with loved cousins.
She is preceded in death by an infant brother, Ryan, and grandparents Mae and Wayne Earll and Don and Dotty Anderson. www.andersonandsonsfh.com

There are no words. Our hearts ache for Becky’s parents, siblings and extended family. We are so very angry that this shy sweetheart was a victim through no fault of her own. Know we are holding you in our hearts and our thoughts are with you all. Many hugs.
Becky’s classroom is next to my room. I talked with her almost every day. She was genuinely kind to everyone, staff as well as students. We will remember Becky as someone who made the world a better place for so many students, as well as the staff who knew her and worked with her. Becky was “the real deal”. We should all aspire to live our lives as Becky lived her life. I will remember the Earll family in my prayers. I am so saddened by the loss of Becky.

I have worked with Becky ever since she started teaching in Canton. Becky radiated goodness. She was kind, gentle, a beautiful soul. I will miss her friendly, beautiful smile and quiet, happy spirit. Her passing is a tragic loss for her family, our Lawrence school family, and our entire community. I was Becky’s first roommate at Northwestern College 23 years ago. She was a breath of fresh air and gave me stability on my first year away from home. I remember her as being so much fun and a genuine caring soul. She made me laugh and gave me hope in moments when the world felt impossible. I send peace and love to all who knew her; her family, friends, co-workers, and her students (past and present).
I am so sorry for your loss. She will be missed. The young people she had in school were blessed to have her.
I was Becky’s para for many years at the Gayville Volin School District.
Becky was one of the best teachers I’ve ever worked with. She lived for her students, and went above and beyond to bring out the best in each and every one.
Becky had such a kind heart, and became a good friend. She shared recipes, she shared her favorite shopping stops at the mall, and she taught me how to be a better para with her firm but patient demeanor.
I send my heartfelt prayers for comfort and peace as we all mourn the loss of such a beautiful woman.
Marcia and Dave, my condolences for the loss of your daughter, Becky. My thoughts and prayers will remain with you during this difficult time.

I am so sorry for your loss. Ms. Earll taught two of my kids and really nurtured their math education when they really struggled. She was so patient and made a huge impact on them. It was always very obvious that she loved her job and the kids! I occasionally got to enjoy a pleasant visit with Becky in the hallways and breakroom when I worked at the school. She was so very kind and always shared a smile and a gentle “hello” to anyone passing by. We remember her fondly. We will keep Becky’s family and friends in our prayers.
I had Becky as a student at Northwestern College. She was a promising educator and a lovely person even then. I’m so sorry for her students, colleagues, and especially her family. May God’s presence be felt as you mourn.

She did an amazing job teaching. My math skills are because of her believing I could achieve math like every one else could just needed a little help. I’m sorry to hear the news of her passing god needed another angle to welcome people to the gates of heaven.
To all of Becky’s family and extended family,
May God lead you through this valley with a gentle hand.
Thoughts and prayers
Becky had the heart of gold. She had the smile that was so contagious. I am going to miss her positive calm vibes at the school. My kids (Miss Earll’s kiddos) miss her very much. Prayers out to Becky’s family, school family, all her kiddos and friends.
I recognized the spelling of the last name Earll on Rebecca’s obituary and read it. I wondered if my 1st grade teacher, Mae Earll, was an ancestor. Indeed, it states that she was Rebecca’s grandmother. I remember Mrs. Earll fondly from many years ago as my very first teacher at Worthing Elementary in 1966. It appears that the apple never falls far from the tree in regard to career choices and life-calling.
Condolences to your family for your loss.
Dear Family of Rebecca Earll,
I send you my deepest sympathy. I hope it helps to hear God has her safely enveloped in His arms. She is in no pain.
Do reach out if you need.

Earll Family, I taught with Becky at GV and enjoyed knowing her as a friend and fellow teacher. She was always so positive and uplifting. She had a great connection with her students and staff members, too. I loved her quick wit and sunny personality. She accompanied my middle school students and me to Washington, D.C. and had a wonderful learning experience. I am so sorry for your loss and for the loss to her students as well. She was a wonderful person and teacher. May your many happy memories help you through the dark days. I know I will never forget Becky.
