Visitation: A visitation celebrating Barb’s life will be held Thursday, August 17, 2023 from 5-7 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home in Canton, SD.
Service: A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 18 at the Beloit Cemetery, Beloit, IA.
Barb Dupuy, age 63, died Sunday, August 13, 2023 surrounded by her family at Ava’s House in Sioux Falls, SD. A visitation celebrating Barb’s life will be held Thursday, August 17, 2023 from 5-7 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home in Canton, SD. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 18 at the Beloit Cemetery, Beloit, IA.
Barb was born on December 9, 1959 in Huron, SD to John and Elaine Joan “JoAnn” (Oe) Eckert. She graduated from Canton High School. She married Dave Dupuy on November 5, 2000 at Canton United Methodist Church. The couple made their home in Canton.
Through the years, Barb worked at A & R Grocery Store, Garden of Eat’n, Keystone Treatment Center, and Latchkey. She loved children, animals, spending time with family, and reading. She also enjoyed car rides and talking with people. She will be remembered for always having a clean house.
Grateful for sharing her life are her husband of 22 years, Dave; daughter, Michelle (Scott) Blom; mother, Elaine “JoAnn” Eckert; siblings, Mark Stern, Allyn Campbell, Marlene Schmidt, John Eckert, and Bill Eckert; numerous nieces and nephews, and many extended relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, John; brother, Keith Stern; and grandson, Remmy Blom.
We knew Barb & all of her family while living
in Canton. She used to visit with my wife often.

I just found out of Barb’s passing. I am very sad to hear this…shocked because I just saw her in the grocery store when I was back in Canton in July. We chatted about running track together in high school. You all have my sympathy. Barb was such a kind lady.
