Ardell worked at Otis Radio, did housekeeping for several homes and businesses in the Canton area, and for food services at the Canton High School until she retired to take care of her husband.
Ardell was a long-time member of Canton Lutheran Church where she volunteered preparing the Voice. She was also a life time member of the VFW Auxiliary and the Senior Citizens Center.
Ardell loved spending time with her family, playing cards with the card club, bingo, getting together with friends for birthday breakfasts, and she always anxiously waited for that first ripe tomato out of her grandson’s garden, which was always reserved for her.
Ardell is survived by two sons, Charles (Naomi) Johnson, Arlington, SD and Roger Johnson, Harrisburg, SD; one daughter, Marleen (Lowell) Feucht, Canton, SD; daughter-in-law, Linnette Johnson, Sioux Falls, SD; eight grandchildren, Garth (Angela Koch) Johnson, Matthew Johnson, Terry (Jean) Johnson, Brent Johnson, Tyler (Jennifer) Johnson, Jarrod Feucht, Eric (Kayla) Feucht, and Jessica Buer; 14 great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Ardell was predeceased by her parents, her husband Clarence, her son Dennis, sister Luella Lien, three brothers, Delvin Lien, Kenneth (Thelma) Lien, and Richard (Jeanette) Lien.

My heart is sad to hear the news of Ardell’s passing. I loved her so much. She had a standing appointment at my salon and I fixed her hair for many years. She was witty and always made me laugh and she had the best giggle. Hugs and sympathy to all of Ardell’s family.
