Alvin Cramer, age 67, died Sunday, January 21, 2024 at Sanford USD Medical Center. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 26, 2024 at River of Life Community Church, Canton, SD. Visitation, with family present, will be Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home in Canton, SD.
Alvin was born on October 9, 1956 in Slayton, MN to Eelke “Ed” and Minnie (Reitsma) Cramer. Alvin married Judy Dupuy on September 6, 1980 in Canton, SD. Anthony, Cal, and Justin were born to this union.
Alvin worked for Hunting Elevator in Canton for over 26 years. After its closure, he worked for elevators in Inwood and Sioux Falls before selling cars. He finished up his career as a truck driver for Gacke Enterprises.
Alvin was a hardworking, man of his word who loved to socialize. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and hosting wild game feeds. Alvin also loved spending time with family, especially his kids and grandchildren. He will be remembered for his laugh and smile.
He is survived by his three sons, Anthony Cramer, Cal (Katie) Cramer, and Justin (Andrea) Cramer; grandchildren, Harvey, Lily and Layla; sisters, Carol (Dan) Bonnema and Edna (Howard) Van De Vendel; brother, Ted (Lois) Cramer; step-daughter, Tracy Farnsworth and her daughter, Sophia; along with numerous extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

What a lovely write up on your dad. Alvin was such a kind man with a caring heart. He had a smile for everyone he met. I hope your memories bring you smiles and comfort.
We first met Alvin shortly after we moved to Canton. Great guy! We have enjoyed staying in touch with him after all these years later. He is such a wonderful man with great faith and love of the Lord. Our deepest sympathy to your family in this time of sadness and loss. He will truly be missed!

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Alvin. I knew him from the River where we served coffee together. He always came in with a smile and made me laugh. What a joy he was to be around. I think of him often and know he will be missed.
