          Adella Lennon, age 92, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at Diamond Care Center in Bridgewater, SD.  Memorial services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Canton United Methodist Church, Canton, SD.  Family will greet visitors one hour prior to the service.

          Adella Mae Becker Lennon born on December 26, 1931 in Freeman, SD to Joseph and Esther Becker.  She attended school in Marion, SD and graduated from there.  She then went on to Grace Bethal College where she met Wilmar Nickel.  They married in July of ’52 in Marion SD.  To this marriage they had 4 sons and 1 daughter, Doug, Duane, Darrel, Dean and Denise.

          This marriage died in ’75.  She then went on to work at Paulson Advertising and Minnehaha Country Club. She also volunteered at 10000 Villages for several years. In her spare time, she made banners for the Good Shepherd Mennonite Church and enjoyed quilting.

          Later, she met Bob Lennon, they married in April ’93.  She then moved to Canton.  There she joined the Canton Methodist Church.  Upon their retirement, they travel to many places in the United States and enjoyed many winters in Arizona.

          Survivors are Doug (Diane) Nickel, Canistota, SD, Darrel (Kari) Nickel, Boise ID, Dean (Sandy) Nickel, Rapid City, SD, and Denise Nickel, Reno NV; 10 grandchildren and several great and great-great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Harold Becker, MN, Palmer (Ardys) Becker,  ON,  Grace (Gil) Buller, CO, and Jane (Ted) Weather,  AR; extended family  Jan (Corky) DeJong, Canton SD, Jeff (Kim) DeJong, Tim (Kelli) DeJong, Darren (Sandy) DeJong, and Cathryn (Jared) Fredrikson; and many nieces, nephew and friends.

          She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; son, Duane; and brother and sisters-in-law, Raymond and Frances Becker and Irene Becker.
