Visitation: Visitation, with family present, will be from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, July 7 at Anderson Funeral Home in Canton, SD. 

Service: A Celebration of Scott’s Life will begin at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 8 at Canton United Methodist Church. 

         Scott Gregory Frank was born on December 7, 1950 to Kenneth and Virginia (Renken) Frank in Sioux Falls, SD. Scott’s father was killed in a military plane as a pilot for the SD Air National Guard when Scott was a year old. Scott passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 in Canton, SD.

          Scott grew up in Sioux Falls and graduated from Washington High School in 1969. One day after graduation he entered the US Navy serving 39 months in the Republic of Vietnam. Scott was extremely proud to serve his country. One of his greatest gifts was to be invited and attend the Military Honor Flight to Washington, DC in 2019.

          After his discharge, he began attending Dakota State College in Madison, SD. He married Kathy (Fiegen) Frank on June 24, 1974 in Sioux Falls, SD. They were blessed with 3 children: Jamie, Kelly and Andy. They were further blessed with 5 wonderful grandchildren: Austin, Alayna, Connor, Maddison, and Jaxson.

          Scott spent his professional career in the food business owning and operating restaurants in Utah, Colorado, Iowa, and returning to Sioux Falls in 1991. He and his son Andy owned and operated the Canton Pizza Ranch successfully for 18 years and both of his daughters and oldest grandson worked alongside him at the Ranch. Scott was very involved in the Canton community even after the selling the Pizza Ranch.

          Scott enjoyed hunting, especially the annual veteran’s pheasant hunt in Pierre, fishing, camping, and boating especially with his family. He was also a member of the Lions Club, the VFW, and the American Legion.

          Scott was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Frank; mother, Virginia Pedigo; sister, Vicki Lien; and brother-in-law, Robert Sorenson. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Kathy; children, Jamie Frank, Kelly (Mike) Morris, and Andy (Kristin) Frank; grandchildren, Austin Frank, Alayna Morris, Connor Morris, Maddison Frank, and Jaxson Frank; 2 sisters, Cindy Sorenson and Kina Ronke; brothers-in-law, Richard Lien, Mike Fiegen, Scott Fiegen, and Rick Fiegen; special nephew, Ryan Lien; aunt, Marcia Abel; along with numerous extended relatives and friends.

          A Celebration of Scott’s Life will begin at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 8 at Canton United Methodist Church.  Visitation, with family present, will be from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, July 7 at Anderson Funeral Home in Canton, SD.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Midwest Honor Flight.  www.andersonandsonsfh.com
