Uncle Doug lived a life of service to others. From voluntarily serving our country through Viet Nam to serving his communities in Wisconsin and South Dakota as a law enforcement officer. He was a major influence on my decision to join the thin blue line. His example and guidance led me through 26 years of public service in my communities in Wisconsin from patrol officer to chief of police. His legacy will live on through those that chose to follow me. He will be greatly missed.
