Marjorie Mullinix, age 90, died Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012 at the Canton Good Samaritan Center.  Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Monday,  Jan.  23 at Anderson Funeral Home in Canton with burial to follow in the Beloit Cemetery, Beloit, IA.  Visitation will be Sunday from 3-5 p.m.
Marjorie Lucille Mullinix, daughter of Claude and Thelma (Scott) Wilcox, was born November 5, 1921 in Canton, SD.  She grew up in Canton with her four sisters: Lorraine, Betty, Dorothy, and Nancy.
She fell in love and married Carroll “Swede” Mullinix on October 10, 1938.  They were thankful for their six children: Michael, John, Carrie, Claude, Cheryle, and Kim. Marge was the epitome “50’s TV Mom”, doing housework in her dress, high heels, made up hair and make-up.   Though times were lean, Marge’s creative nature left fond memories of sock puppets, mud pies, paper dolls, big bowls of popcorn, and chocolate cake.  Marge loved flowers and had a beautiful flower garden.  Marge’s Good Samaritan family lovingly remembers her spunk, love of music, and mischievous nature.
Marge’s seven day journey home brought her to the loving arms of her Father.  She lived to be 90 years, 2 month, and 14 days old.   Marge is survived by her children: Cheryle (Bill) Sauers  Canton, SD, Kim (Sue) Mullinix Inwood, IA, Claude (Claire) Mullinix Sioux Falls, SD, and Mike Mullinix Sioux Falls, SD; 17 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; as well as her adopted Good Samaritan children.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Swede; sisters Lorraine,  Nancy, and Dorothy; son John and his wife Faye Mullinix; daughter, Carrie; and son-in-law Art Kroger. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Canton Good Samaritan Center.

Even though I only knew her a short time I enjoyed the time I spent with her. She always had a way of making people smile and laugh. I will never forget the stories she told me. We love you Grandma Marge! See you again someday when we meet you at the gates! You will be missed!
