Service: Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 20, 2011 at Canton Lutheran Church with burial to follow in the Worthing Cemetery.

Elvera Myrabo, age 78, died Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Sanford USD Medical Center.  Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 20, 2011 at Canton Lutheran Church with burial to follow in the Worthing Cemetery.  Visitation will be Sunday from 2-8 p.m., family present 6-8 p.m., at Anderson Funeral Home in Canton.
Elvera was born on September 25, 1932 in Worthing, SD to George & Matilda (Orstad) Abbas.  She attended school in Worthing and graduated from Lennox High School.  After high school she worked for Northern States Power.  Elvera married Lloyd Myrabo on September 14, 1957 at West Prairie Lutheran Church, Lennox, SD.
Elvera was an active member of Canton Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school for many years, was superintendant, wedding coordinator, and served in many other capacities.  She was an active member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, serving as secretary for many years.  She was a daycare provider and was thought of and called mom and grandma by many.  She enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren participate in sports, especially baseball and wrestling.  She was happiest when her house was overflowing with children.
Grateful for having shared Elvera’s life are her sons, Vance (Jayne), Canton, SD, Randy (Dee), Trenton, MI, and Wade, Canton, SD; daughters, Kristie (Jim) Davies, Canton, SD and Cathy Jo Myrabo, Canton, SD; 16 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Lorna Cornelius, Canton, SD, Elaine Thatcher, Albuquerque, NM, Joyce Swenson, Jasper, MN, and Janice Vaught, Bonne Terre, MO.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lloyd; brother, Clifford Abbas; and sisters, Evelyn Sheldon and Marlene Paulsmeyer.
