Jill was born on August 4, 1961 in Sioux Falls, SD to Curt and Sally (Sabers) Jorgenson. She grew up in Huron and also lived in Denver, Dallas and Kansas City. After graduation from High School in 1979, she attended Business College in Huron. She met the love of her life and best friend, Kevin Olinger, and they were married on August 14, 1982 in Huron, SD. They had three sons, Josh, Travis and Hayden. She has lived in Canton, SD since 1997 and is very involved in the community.
Jill was a person of great faith and believed strongly in all that the Catholic Church stood for and practiced it every day by the way she lived her life. Her life was full of people that loved her; none more so than Kevin and her family. She was very involved in St. Dominic’s Church in Canton, SD. She not only worked there but spent countless hours volunteering her time there. She was a leader by example; she took charge and got things done! She was talented in so many areas.
Jill loved being a mom and was very proud of her boys and was so excited to welcome Alex (Travis’s wife) into their family of boys. Jill had a zest for life that not many people have. She was silly, entertaining, creative, happy, strong, generous, and incredibly kind and giving. She lit up the room with her contagious laugh and had an impact on everyone that she met. There was no one quite like Jill!
Jill is survived by her husband, Kevin; sons, Josh, Canton, SD, Travis (Alex) Canton, SD and Hayden, Sioux Falls, SD; grandchildren, Lorelai and Eleanor; parents, Curt (Sally) Jorgenson, Sioux Falls, SD; brothers, Brad (Kay Ann) Jorgenson, Taylor Lake Village, TX and Todd (Heidi) Jorgenson, Madison, SD; sister, Kathy Miller, Dallas, TX; along with numerous extended relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her sister, Kim. Memorials may be directed to St. Dominic Catholic Church.
We knew it was coming, but we’re never ready, when we lose such a vibrant, joyful, loving person. So sorry for your loss, Kevin, and your boys. Hugs and prayers to all those whose lives were enriched by knowing Jill.
Curt and Sally, I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers for you and your family. Jill was always such a beautiful and bubbly person.
Craig and I would like to send our condolences to you Kevin and the boys. So sorry to hear of your loss. May the Lord watch over you during this difficult time. Sending prayers.
Oh dear Jill, you were an inspiration to any who met you. Your kindness and love for life was like none other. You will be greatly missed by so many. I am so sorry Jorgenson family.
Jill was my best friend in high school in Texas before the Jorgenson family moved to Lenexa KS and eventually South Dakota. I was heartbroken when she moved, but she was so happy to move back where all her friends and extended family were and then she met Kevin and the story started. Many people describe Jill as quiet and reserved, but she wasn’t that way with me. She was funny (actually hilarious), endearing and kind, but best of all, Jill always made you laugh, ALOT. I spoke to her last in July, right after my Mom had passed and then we got busy 6 weeks later when my Dad also passed and dealing with everything that came from that. I didn’t know Jill was fighting for her life and I am truly sad that I couldn’t support her through this. She probably thought I had too much on my plate at the time. A light has gone out, but she has her wings and is in a better place. I’ll be praying for Kevin, Josh, Travis, Hayden, Brad, Kathy, Todd, Curt, Sally, all other family and everyone else who knew and loved Jill like I did. The Jorgenson/Ollinger family is very special to me and I am so sorry I can not be there for Friday. Sending love and prayers from Texas.
Kevin, I am So Sorry to hear of Jill’s passing. She used to babysit my daughter, Brittany when the family lived in Lewiston, MN. Sincerest condolences

I am saddened to hear of Jill’s passing. She was such a ‘special’ gal. Talented, friendly, everything that made her so special. I still have her little picture frame that she make for us ladies at Brittney’s graduation from High School luncheon . It had our name in it. You all have my sincere sympathy. Blessings on each and every one. Barb D.
My sympathy to the Family of Jill in your loss. Thoughts and prayers are with you.

So sorry for your loss of Jill. Many memories. My heart aches. Prayers for all.
To all the Jorgenson and Olinger families~
Words cannot express how saddened I am to hear of your loss and the loss to all of us that have known and loved Jill. A childhood best friend that was a lifelong best friend and even though our lives took us to living away from each other we always seemed to pick up where we left off when we had the chance to catch up with each other again. I had just told her at the beginning of this year that my New Year Resolution for 2019 was to make a trip to SD to get together again with her. I am so sad that I took for granted that tomorrow is never promised and that time was of the essence. I wish I would have followed up when she had not returned my call recently and for that my heart is heavy. Jill will be dearly missed by so many as she was that special of a person.
I am so sorry and sad to have had to miss the funeral today. I had foot surgery a week ago and cannot bear weight for a month and could not find a driver for me. So, to family and friends, I wish you peace to bring you comfort, strength to face the days ahead and loving memories to forever hold in your heart as I know Jill will forever hold a very dear and special place in my heart! RIP Jill…until we meet again! ✝️
Deepest sympathy,

Jill was truly a beautiful soul. She was such an inspiration in many ways, especially the way she handled situations with humor, drive and grace. She had such a positive outlook and very strong faith. As a grandmother, she was extraordinary. She also had an artistic flair, that was evidenced by the exceptional photographs she took of her grandchildren and the events she coordinated and planned for her family and friends. She will be missed by many people, but her gifts here on earth will be cherished forever. Love you Jill!
I was both shocked and saddened to hear that Jill passed away. I many times don’t hear Canton news though I live just 30 miles away. My heart goes out to Kevin, the boys, Curt and Sally and the rest of Jill’s family. Jill had a laugh that was so infectious, it made you laugh right along with her. She always seemed upbeat and easy-going. Jill will forever be in my heart and in my memories, especially when Josh participated in Canton Special Olympics, and she was always there cheering him and his teammates on. She was also a great neighbor and friend. Many prayers for your hearts to heal in time from your loss and that your memories will bring smiles when ever you think or talk of Jill.
Curt, Sally, Kevin and boys,
I am sad to hear of Jill’s passing, I didn’t realize that she was in a battle. I’m sorry that I wasn’t better at keeping in touch. The Jorgenson family was my family when I had no brothers and sisters. I have such good memories of spending time with you all in your home, you treated me like one of your own. Jill was my best friend growing up and her laugh was contagious! I remember riding my bike in front your house, just so I could go along to get some ice cream. I also remember all of us kids getting chicken pox together! I’m so glad to have known Jill and I will see her again in God’s timing. I am praying for you all, for God to comfort you with his peace that only he can provide. I love you all.
Deepest sympathy,
