Carol M. Crawford, age 91, died Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Sanford Canton-Inwood Hospital. Funeral services will begin at 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 4 at Canton Lutheran Church. Visitation with family present will be Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home in Canton.
Carol was born in Klondike, IA on December 20, 1927 to Harold and Olive (Severson) Madland. She graduated from Canton High School in 1945. She married Don Crawford on October 12, 1947. Carol worked at the Canton Creamery before starting a 43 year career at Farmers State Bank in Canton, working her way up to Vice President.
She enjoyed bowling, golf, and spending time with her family. She was known for her putting ability and won the Club Championship in 1974. She was also an active member of numerous boards and organizations in the Canton Community. She was named the Canton Citizen of the Year in 1987.
She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Don; children, Deb (Skip) Sorensen, Sioux Falls, SD, Joan (Bob) Lier, Canton, SD, Curt (Sherry) Watertown, SD and Jeff (Janet), Canton, SD; 13 grandchildren, Molly, Colby, Shaley, Brady, Jessica, Brent, Erin, Justin, Amy, Jesse, Julie, Jacob, and Jenna; 15 great-grandchildren, Ashley, Cameron, Rylee, Addison, Maggie, Qynn, Quorra, Wyatt, Miya, Reagan, Madison, Edin, Owen, Asher, and Destiny; sister-in-law, Linda Madland, Canton, SD; special friends, Terry and Connie Glenn; along with numerous extended relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jim Madland.

You have our hearts and sympathy. This is just so hard. We loved bowling and golfing with Carol and her sly wit that would come out on numerous occasions. Hold all the memories close to your heart, we know that we will.

Sorry to hear of Carol’s passing. A lot of great memories with your families…..reunions at the bowling alley, vacations at the lakes in Minnesota, etc. We ( Huckfelts ) always enjoyed our times together.
