Marc Burden, 46, passed away unexpectedly Friday, June 30, 2017 at his home in Canton. His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 8, at Canton Lutheran Church. Visitation will be Friday, July 7, from 2 to 8:00 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home, with family present from 6 to 8:00 p.m.
Marc was born April 20, 1971 in Pekin, Illinois to Dean and Norma Jean (Schrever) Burden. He graduated from Woodruff High School in Manito, IL. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Marc married Dawn Krejci October 2, 2015 and they made their home in Canton. He was currently working at Adams Thermal in Canton as machine operator. He previously worked at Sioux Steel in Sioux Falls. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and talking about anything having to do with the Marine Corps. He was very attached to his cats, Scarlett and Naomi.
Marc is survived by his wife, Dawn; his four children, Aiden, Liz, Ashley, and Daela; his step-daughter, Whitney Krejci; five brothers and sisters; and many other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Marc,
There were many things you never had to be. But, with courage, valor, candor and grace, you donned the mantle of husband, friend, father, son and brother. You exhibited those qualities every day I knew you. You will be missed. You are loved. You mattered. You made a difference. On balance, that is the embodiment of a life well lived. The Lord’s got some fishing spots for you. Until then, I’m going to ride the bike you fixed for me and reflect on how much I miss you. Rest easy, friend.
Dawn, I am so very sorry! Sending prayers and hugs.
Marc was such a special addition to the family. He brought joy and meaning into my sisters life just as we lost our brother, Glenn just three short years ago. No one knows the days that God has planned for our lives which only proves that we should live each day as though as it is our last. That is how Marc lived his with Dawn and Whitney. He loved them hard and lived each day to the fullest – always ensuring that they knew he loved them and that family meant everything to him. He missed his children and loved them as well. Our daily banter of Marine vs Army only brought more joy into our days!!! Dawn forever was sharing stories of loving moments or playful times between them. He filled her and Whitneys life with joy, love and laughter. We will miss him. We loved him and enjoyed our time with him. He’s having a holy Ghost hoe-down right now and one day we will be there to join in the fun. 😉 love you brother-in-law, Darlene and bobby
