Visitation: Visitation will be Friday at Anderson Funeral Home in Canton from 2 to 8:00 p.m., with family present from 6 to 8:00 p.m.

Service: Her funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Canton Lutheran Church.

Arlene P. (Esche) Schneider, 90, passed away Monday, March 27, 2017 at Fellowship Village at Inwood, IA.  Her funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Canton Lutheran Church.  Visitation will be Friday at Anderson Funeral Home in Canton from 2 to 8:00 p.m., with family present from 6 to 8:00 p.m.

Arlene was born May 28, 1926 in Milwaukee, WI to Earl and Dorothy (Zugschwerdt) Dumke.  She graduated from Webster (SD) High School in 1945.  Arlene married Gale E. Esche, Sr. January 5, 1947.  They lived in Bristol, SD and McGregor, MN before moving to Canton in 1954. She married Lester Schneider September 26, 1992.  They made their home in Hawarden, IA and Canton.

Arlene was an active member of Canton Lutheran Church for many years.  She enjoyed traveling, dancing, and spending time with family.

Grateful for having shared her life are her husband of 24 years, Lester, Canton, SD; her sons, Mark (Rose) Esche and Todd (Debra) Esche all of Canton; 6 grandsons, Jason, Hot Springs, SD, Chad, Absarokee, MT,  Troy, Osburn, ID, Adam, Canton, SD, Matthew, Daniel; her brother, Bill (Sandy) Dumke, Baxter, MN; and many other extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Gale Esche, Jr. and her first husband, Gale Esche, Sr.
