Dalyce & family, I was sorry to here about your brother, uncle, and family member. Remember all the good times that you had with him. I will be saying a prayer for all of you, and please have a safe trip home. Love you all.
I want to tell you that you have my deepest sympathy. Someone wrote this to me once, and it gave me great comfort, so I pass it along to you: “Death is not the extinguishment of light, but the turning off of the lamp, for the morning has come”……I will keep you all in my prayers….Dee

This is very sad. Craig was a special person and I am so sorry about his death. May he be at peace
What a great and friendly man. Every time we saw him he always had time to visit. He had such a warm personality, we usually saw him at the sale barn or grocery store. Always a smile. He was a great customer when I worked at the Canton Co-op Gas & Oil. Janet and Cliff Sorum
Harrold & Margaret, I am so very sorry for your loss. My prayers and thoughts are with all of you. May God wrap you in His loving arms and carry you through this most difficullt of times. Love & prayers, Louella
We are so sadden to hear about Craig. He was a great friend, neighbor & farmer. He will be greatly missed. We are keeping all of you in our thoughts & prayers.
We have been thinking about Craig these last few days. So many memories – times at Prairie Grove School, Beaver Creek Church, baseball games and sometimes just sharing time. We will always remember Craig as a special friend. Thanks for sharing him with us. Our love and sympathy to all of you. Bob & Evelyn (Haines City, FL)
Dear Dalyce, Mr. and Mrs. Johnson, Mary, and all of Craig’s family, We were so saddened by the news of Craig’s passing. He was truly “one of the Crannys” since he and Mike became fast friends in high school. All of us so enjoyed having him with us at family gatherings and events through the years. His easy smile and great sense of humor were always there and will be missed. Love and prayers to all of you. Mary Ellen (Cranny) Paul and family
Our sympathy and prayers are with your family during this difficult time. Craig will be missed in the Canton and Harrisburg communities, but never forgotten. Pat and Cyndee (Harris) McVay Papillion, Nebraska
Dear Family of C.J. I first met C.J. on a baseball field. He was playing for Harrisburg and my son, Rick, was playing for Salem. They had some good battles. C.J. was a terrific baseball player and he could hit the long ball. Opponents feared him when he strolled to the plate. I always enjoyed talking to him at amateur games. The last time was at Lennox Dist. this past July. I am grateful to have met C.J. and for the fond memories of not only baseball but our conversations in general. He was well liked and respected by all who knew him. Presently I am president of the SD Amateur Baseball Association so I have seen a lot of games over the years. No better competitor have I seen that Craig Johnson. May God be with all of you and may my friend rest in peace
Dear Harold and family, Our deepest sympathy in the loss of Craig. Our thoughts and prayers are with you in your loss. Curt and Kay
Dear Dalyce,Harrold & Margaret – We have such good memories of our childhood years, and our history is so comforting to think about. Life seemed so simple then. I have such regrets that I am not home at this time, but my thoughts and prayers are certainly with you. May God give you His comfort and strength to get through. Karen (Gedstad) Anderson
Harrold, Margaret & Dalyce — I am so sorry for the loss of Craig. What a great guy. I have one particular memory of Craig from when I was a teenager. I was pulling weeds in one of our family’s soybean fields, and I was almost done. Finishing up the last round. But there was a big thunderstorm moving in and coming my way. Craig was working in the field next door. He stopped what he was doing, got down off his tractor, walked over to where I was and told me to go home so I wouldn’t get struck by lightning! He was genuinely concerned for my well-being. I was so touched by his kindness to me that day, and I’ll always remember him that way. May God bless you and comfort you in the days ahead. Gail Eiesland
My deepest sympathy to all of you…Craig was a very special friend to me; in fact, I was at the farm last Sunday afternoon and we had a good visit. He had the biggest heart and his warm, caring ways will be missed by all. He helped me a great deal the past several years and I will miss him dearly. I hope for you, his family, a peace in knowing that he loved all of you very much. My sympathy to all of you.
I am very sorry for your loss. May God bless and comfort you during your sorrow and may His grace shine upon all of you.
I’m so sorry to hear of the passing of C.J. I will always remember the baseball games we played together and the many rides to games. Especially, in Salem, when he gave me a ride home. After my ride had left without me. He was a good friend and I will miss being able to talk to him. Rest in Peace
My dad(Elwood Anderson) coached at Harrisburg for approximately 10 years while I was growing up. I was the bat boy for the team and Craig will always be someone who stuck out to me. He always treated me with respect and as if I was “one of the guys”. I really felt it was an honor to know Craig and hope I am half the man he was. Sorry for your loss. Denny Anderson
I want to express my sympathy to the Johnson family. I also knew Craig from baseball. He was a great guy to play against and get together with after the game. Sorry for your loss
I’ve always considered Craig as a great friend. He was one of the easiest guys to talk to. His wonderful, laid back attitude was uniquely his. I will always remember him with fondness. I’m truly sorry for your loss. He cannot be replaced, but he’ll always bring a smile to your heart when you remember him.
Johnson Family; My deepest sympathy for your loss. Craig was a great neighbor and quick to lend a hand whenever the chores were more than I could handle. I will ever be greatful for the kindness he showed me.
I was sorry to hear of Craig’s passing. I had a great visit with Craig last summer when we had the Prairie Grove/Beaver Creek Church get together. We had the opportunity to get caught up in talking about “old times.” I coached Craig, Orv Gedstad and Dave Eiesland one summer when I was in college. They must have been about 13 years old at the time. Those kids loved baseball. If it were left up to them, they would have had practice or a game everyday, all summer long. Craig had a grin on his face all summer. Please find comfort in the Love of God. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Sincerely Greg Eiesland
To Craigs family: Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family and friends of Craig. He was such a nice man and always friendly. May your memories of him help you get through this very tough time. He will truly be missed.
My heart is saddened with the loss of CJ. He had been a friend of Bob Roetzel and became my friend too when Bob and I were married. My children have fond memories of CJ and also wish to extend their sympathy to CJ’s family. I have made a donation to the Gospel Union Mission in honor of Craig. May all your wonderful memories bring some comfort to each one of you. He was a wonderful man! Love Lyn
Harrisburg has definitely lost a staple in Craig (CJ). He was the one and only “CJ”. We are blessed to have known such a caring individual. We have numerous, wonderful memories of the old baseball days which will remain in our hearts forever. Our hearts will forever remember our friend.
Harold & Margaret and family, You have our sincere sympathy in the death of Craig. May God’s peach surround you in your season of grief. You are in our prayers. Ron and Bev
