Andy Skinner, age 25, died Sunday, September 4, 2011 near Davis, SD, due to injuries from an auto accident. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, at Grand Valley Lutheran Church south of Canton, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home in Canton, with family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Andy was born September 27, 1985 in Sioux Falls, SD, to Ron and Deb (Anderson) Skinner. He attended school in Canton, graduating in 2004. He has worked various construction jobs, and currently, was employed with Great Plains Contracting, Inc. of Aberdeen. Andy enjoyed fast cars, loud music, and friends, but most of all he cherished his family.
Grateful for having shared his life are; his father, Ron, Canton; his brother, John (Gina) Skinner and their children, Madison and Dylan, Sioux Falls, SD; his sister, Kerrie (Grant) Shaffer and their children, Tessa and Gavin, Hugo, MN; his grandmother, Marge (Don Tischler) Anderson, Mitchell, SD; his grandfather, Jack (Vicki) Anderson, Canton, SD; his step-sister, Kristina Sharon and her children, Tori Lea and Hailey, Larchwood, IA; and numerous friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Deb, and step-mother, Susan.

We are so sorry to hear about your loss. Andy spent the 4th of July weekend at our farm, and we so enjoyed laughing with him. He had a great sense of humor and kept everyone entertained. Tragic loss, such a tragedy I can only think of how many lives he has touched. I know that just speaking to my sister and niece just how highly they spoke of him and how he was a gentle and kind person to the children and a role model that they looked up to. Andy lived life to the fullest! He loved cars and I liked talking to him about his cars. I am thankful for getting to know him as Brian’s classmate and during confirmation at church a long time ago.
